Although it’s easy to think you need a complete life overhaul to feel better, the truth is that small, consistent changes can have the biggest impact on your overall wellbeing. From simple daily habits to mindset shifts, these easy lifestyle changes can help you feel calmer, more energised, and more like yourself – without spending money or making drastic changes. Remember, you want these changed to become your lifestyle, not just for a week. So let’s be realistic!
1. Start Your Day Without Your Phone
Instead of reaching straight for your phone, give yourself 10–15 minutes to wake up slowly. Whether it’s making a coffee, stretching, or just sitting in peace, this helps set a calmer tone for the day. Feeding your brain the social media as soon as it wakes up puts your brain into a reactive anxious state straight away! Focusing on something else first thing will mean your brain starts the day in your control.

2. Drink More Water… 2 Litres Per Day

Roughly 6-8 glasses of water should be drank today. It sounds basic, but staying hydrated can improve your energy, skin, and focus. Keeping a water bottle nearby is a simple way to build this habit into your daily routine. I found that getting a trendy Stanley cup really helped motivate my water intake. 3. Get Outside Everyday

Even a short walk or a bit of fresh air lifts my mood. It’s one of the easiest ways I reset when I’m feeling overwhelmed or stuck indoors. My office job means that I am stuck in 9-5 so putting a quick 10 minutes outdoors at lunch-time has really made a difference to my wellbeing.
4. Create a Simple Morning Routine

You don’t need anything complicated – just a few small habits like opening the windows, getting dressed, and having breakfast can help you feel more put together. I find that having any kind of routine means that I feel completely ready to tackle the day instead of rushed and overwhelmed.
5. Tidy one small area at a time
This is one I have definitely found hard to stick to… Instead of overwhelming yourself, focus on one small space each day. This makes it easier to stay on top of things and helps create a calmer environment. This stops me from getting overwhelmed and having to do a big tidy up!
6. Move Your Body in Ways You Actually Enjoy

I stopped forcing workouts I didn’t like. Now it’s things like walking or stretching, Pilates, which makes it much easier to stay consistent. If you don’t enjoy what you have planned to do, you are going to dread it. There are plenty of different ways to exercise. We need to be trying new things and see what works for us.
7. Limit Time on Social Media
I think its important to become aware of how much scrolling you are doing and take breaks where you can. It helps me feel more present and less distracted when I decide to have a day of no socials. It is no secret that seeing everyone else’s wins whilst you are having a bad day is not good for you. Remember we only ever see the best of people online, not peoples normal, every day life… including the struggles.
8. Prioritise Good Quality Sleep
Setting time aside to try to wind down properly in the evenings has been making a difference to my sleep quality. Whether that’s dimming the lights or staying off my phone a bit earlier. It’s made a big difference to how I feel the next day. I think the trending theme here is less phone time means better wellbeing!

9. Practice Gratitude in a Simple Way
The word gratitude used to confuse and overwhelm me. I have since realised that if I don’t overcomplicate it and I just take a moment to notice a few good things in my day, this really helps to shift my mindset. Think about it like romanticising the small things. For example taking a few extra minutes drinking your morning coffee, or listening to some music on your walk or commute to work.
10. Learn to Slow Down

Lastly, filling your weekend with plans sounds like a good idea until its Monday morning again and you don’t feel rested. I don’t try to fill every moment anymore. Giving myself time to rest has helped me feel more balanced and less burnt out.
Start with one or two of these habits and build from there. Save this post for later and explore more Glow content for simple, everyday ways to feel your best.
